Description
With the Insects now done, I can post another General - Scarabeth.
Scarabeth was the Commander of the Insect Warrior Beast Army and one of the Subordinate Seven General under the command of the Great General of Darkness, and later the Great Marshall of Hell. He had an over all humanoid shape with the features of a Rhinoceros Beetle into his design – His body was painted blue and gray from torso to pelvis, with gray and golden arms and legs, with claws for fingers and talons for toes. His head was red in color with two gray spikes coming of the sides and a horn on the forehead, his eyes and mouth plate were yellow in color. His weapon of Choice was a sword. His Army was the second smallest, after the Spectral Warrior Beasts, having only Four Warriors of that type – the Spectrals only had Three. His real face was located on the Torso
First featured in the Great Mazinger Anime, Scarabeth was perhaps the most dutiful and loyal to the goals of the Empire than the other Seven Generals, and did them without question, and would accept the responsibilities of failing and take the punishment. A cool headed Strategist and Swordsman who prefers to complete his missions with little manpower as possible, Scarabeth would be be the most collaborate of the Seven General, willing to work even with the most undesirable members and their warrior beast, like the Intelligence Army who are at constant odds with the Generals from time to time, to possibly his strongest relation with General Draydou, of the Reptilian Army, who was closest to be an equal to him. This trait however, made him incapable of question the bad choices done by his superiors – as proven in the debacle with Bruton, where the Great General ordered him to send a Warrior Beast that was known to be nocturnal in the day, or the blind fanatical obsession of The Great Marshall of Hell to kill Tetsuya and Great Mazinger, as his defeat as Dr. Hell at the hands of Koji and Mazinger Z still haunted him.
This inability to not call out the ineptitude of his Superiors would lead to his, and his compatriots, deaths in the final battle on board Demonika as the Mazingers, Diana A and Venus A team up to over heat Demonika with their primary Energy based weapons – Scarabeth, partially melting and crawling on the floor, begs the Great Marshall to retreat, but blinded by his obsession and hatred for the Mazingers, he ignores the dying General's recommendation, and shortly there after, Demonika exploded with Scarabeth and the surviving commanders still on board.
Scarabeth's only other appearance in the franchise was in the Mazinkaiser vs the Great General of Darkness OVA, fighting Great Mazinger along with General Angolas in New York City – while closely resemble his anime counterpart he was shown to have beetle wings and capable of flight, as well shoot web strings that were stronger than steel, his limbs were Green in color with a more define insectoid texture in them, but unlike his anime counterpart, the OVA Scarabeth did not sport a sword. The Scarabeth of the OVA also differs from his original Anime counterpart as been more battle hungry and reckless, putting himself at risk without any subordinate help, and thus, underestimated Great Mazinger's Powers as he was cut him half from top to bottom (and Angolas cut in the back and stomach) by the Great Boomerang. Great then unleashes the Great Burn, disposing of both Generals before Great shuts down do to battle damage and power depletion.
As well, he was in the finale of the Shin Mazinger Z anime, descending from the heavens on a pillar with the Great General and the other Generals.
